About Us
Our Team
Laura Wingett, Owner and Founder, has an extensive background in Social Work and Human Service Counseling. She has worked in the geriatric community for many years in both long term care and assisted living as well as an independent consultant. Her passion for the field began with a position at Westminster Canterbury in 2000. She knew from that moment what she was meant to do. Laura founded WeCare Hampton Roads in 2018 when she began to see how many families in addition to her own needed help navigating healthcare systems and developing a plan. She saw her own family struggle with the hardships of Dementia and Alzheimer's and understands how truly difficult it is for all family members. Her goal is help loved ones remain in their homes as safely as possible with access to all appropriate resources. Laura holds a B.S in Counseling and an M.S.W. Additionally, she has served on many local boards and is a current member of The National Care Planning Council.
Dr. Charles J. Goldman graduated from Emory University with a B.A. degre and the Medical College of Virginia with an M.D. Degree. He is board certified in internal medicine and is a Fellow of The American College of Physicians. Dr. Goldman has additional medical training as an Endocrinologist. He was a founding member of The Sentara Medical Group and has vast experience in geriatric medicine. He is currently serving as the Chief Medical Consultant for WeCare Hampton Roads, LLC.
Services
Care Management Services
We assist with seniors and adults with disabilities. At the initial consultation, an assessment and recommendations
will be provided. We will explore all possible resources available and develop comprehensive plans with goal driven solutions.
Advocacy and Crisis Intervention
We will be an advocate for you or your loved one to ensure they receive the best possible care, utilize their maximum benefits,
facilitate with appropriate care level transitions and secure home care agency providers within specific guidelines. We have established excellent rapports with all local government agencies, long term care facilities, Medicaid providers, hospice agencies and medical providers.
Case Management
WCHR can provide monthly case management. We can check on you or your loved one to ensure all needs are appropriately met. We love our clients and this is truly a highlight of what we do!
Additionally, we can assist with bill paying, managing paperwork, and addressing any insurance concerns that may arise. We make things easier...that's just what we do!
Virginia Medicaid
The cost of long term care can be extremely costly. There are resources available to those who qualify. WCHR will do an eligibity screening to determine if you or your loved one meets the criteria for assistance. We provide help from early planning through final approval and will secure LTC placement or assist with finding an eligible in-home care provider. We make it simple.
SSDI Benefits
Are you unable to work due to ongoing medical issues? We can help obtain social security disability income if you meet the specific criteria. The social security administration can be extremely daunting if you don't have an advocate on your side. We have a proven track record of getting the job done and income back to those who need it.
Companion/ Caregiver Services
We are happy to provide caregiver services in your home, Assisted Living or LTC community.... we take pride in what we do and love our familes like our own. All of our caregivers are screened and carefully selected. We can assist with lighthousekeeping, meal preparation, bathing and grooming, activities, errands and appointments, and medication reminders. Contact us for more information on how we can help.
